Responsibilities

Performs skilled work in repairing, replacing, modifying, installing or otherwise improving equipment and buildings. Knows how to use all hand tools and power tools. Diagnoses mechanical problems and makes repairs. Participates in hospital PM program.

Make all required PM checks on all assigned equipment and lubricates as assigned.

Makes daily rounds through the hospital looking for any lights out or any item needed repairing.

Checks and operates energy management system, HVAC system, chillers, and boilers for the facility. This includes water treatment and pump repair.

Performs some troubleshooting of refrigeration system using A/C gauges and test equipment.

Able to troubleshoot small electrical problems and mechanical problems.

Performs painting, carpentry, and plumbing work to include simple re-piping and repair work.

Checks and operates emergency generator as needed.

Rebuilds air compressor, vacuum, and pumps as needed.

 

Qualifications

Required:

High School Diploma/GED

 

Preferred:

Apprenticeship

5 years Maintenance/engineering in hospital setting

2 years electrical experience

3 years mechanical system maintenance experience

3 years carpentry/maintenance experience
