Job Overview

The Manager, Pediatric Orthopedic Service Line Development leads the creation, expansion, and continuous improvement of the Pediatric Orthopedic Service Line. The position collaborates with clinical leaders, multidisciplinary teams, and regional stakeholders to develop program strategy, ensure operational excellence, and enhance patient access and outcomes. Responsibilities include business planning, financial management, clinical integration, and quality measurement rooted in models from established orthopedic service line roles.

 

This position can be worked on either a Hybrid or Remote basis.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the strategic development and operational implementation of pediatric orthopedic programs, pathways, and services - 20%
  • Develop robust business cases, operating/ capital budgets, and volume forecasting aligned with financial targets - 15%
  • Facilitate multidisciplinary teams in creating care protocols, optimizing patient access, and enhancing throughput - 15%
  • Monitor and report program performance using KPIs, operational metrics, patient satisfaction, and quality outcomes - 15%
  • Coordinate governance, accreditation readiness, and compliance with Joint Commission standards - 10%
  • Manage stakeholder communications, including executive dashboards, board summaries, and physician updates - 10%
  • Support recruitment, staff development, and training initiatives across the pediatric orthopedic service line - 10%
  • Represent the program in internal/external forums, contributing to regional outreach, marketing, and growth strategies - 5%

Qualifications

Required:

  • 5+ years of experience in service line management, program development, or clinical operations, preferably in orthopedics.
  • Expertise in strategic planning, financial modeling, market analysis, and service line growth strategies.
  • Proficiency in care pathway development, clinical integration, and quality management.
  • Excellent communication skills for working with clinicians, executives, families, and external partners.
  • Strong project management capabilities, including governance and cross-functional coordination.
  • Skilled in data analysis, dashboard reporting, and performance tracking tools.
  • Bachelor's Degree in Healthcare Administration, Business, Nursing, Public Health, or related field.

 

Preferred:

  • Leadership experience within pediatric or multi-site health systems with track record of collaboration across clinical, operational and administrative domains.
  • Master's Degree (MHA, MBA, MSN, MPH or related advanced degree).
  • PMP, FACHE, Lean Six Sigma or relevant business development/sales certifications.
