Job Overview

The Market Development Manager (East, Central, West) will oversee and execute regional business development strategies to drive growth, market share, and financial performance across the assigned geography. The position will partner with executive leadership, market leaders, clinical operations, and external stakeholders to develop and launch service lines, referral networks, and partnership initiatives, and will provide regional oversight of sales tactics, business planning, and performance measurement, ensuring alignment with corporate objectives within a matrixed health system environment.

 

This position can be worked on either a Hybrid or Remote basis.

Responsibilities

  • Establish relationships with hospital admin, health systems, IDNs, physician groups, and external partners  - 20%
  • Prepare regional business plans, budgets, revenue forecasts, and performance reports - 15%
  • Analyze market trends, competitor activity, referral patterns, and business pipeline opportunities - 15%
  • Direct and coach regional BD/sales teams, ensuring goal alignment and cultural adherence - 15%
  • Design and execute go-to-market strategies, penetration plans, and promotional programs - 10%
  • Develop partnerships opportunities with health provider entities - 10%
  • Coordinate with corporate stakeholders—marketing, finance, operations, quality, and legal—to ensure disciplined execution and compliance - 10%
  • Establish relationships with hospital admin, health systems, IDNs, physician groups, and external partners  - 5%

Qualifications

Required:

  • 5+ years of proven business development or sales leadership in healthcare, preferably within hospitals, IDNs, or health systems.
  • Expertise in strategic business planning, financial modeling, and performance analytics.
  • Strong negotiation, value-selling, and partnership-building ability.
  • Outstanding leadership, coaching, and team facilitation skills .
  • Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills - capable of engaging with C-suite and clinical leaders.
  • Ability to interpret market dynamics, competitive intelligence, and customer insights.
  • Proficiency in CRM tools (e.g., Salesforce), PowerPoint, Excel, and data visualization tools.
  • Bachelor's Degree in Business, Healthcare Administration, Finance, Marketing or a related field.

 

Preferred:

  • 2+ years of experience in regional scope - managing multi-site teams, territories, or integrated market segments.
  • Matrixed leadership experience - collaborating across functional areas such as marketing, clinical, finance and operations.
  • Master's Degree in Healthcare Administration, Business, or related discipline.
  • PMP, FACHE, Lean Six Sigma or relevant business development/sales certifications.
