Job Overview

The Patient Registrar is the first person that our patients and caregivers will have the opportunity to interact.  This position provides support to our patients by working with the caregiver to schedule appointments, perform pre-registration and registration of new and existing patients, and providing patients with information regarding access to additional external financial resources.  In this position, you will have the opportunity to support our patients with issues dealing with scheduling and questions for the provider(s).  In addition, you will maintain compliance with clinic and regulatory agencies by obtaining various consents.  

 

This position is full time and will have a 9am-5:30pm schedule.

Responsibilities

Works collaboratively with the Registration and Outpatient Services in maintaining and adjusting clinic appointments in accordance with clinic templates and physician schedules. Employee will demonstrate and execute accurate and timely data management relative to SHC operating system.

  • Schedules or reschedules clinic appointments
  • Ensures outpatients scheduled for visits are registered in the EMR
  • Sends written notifications of regularly scheduled appointments to patients and families.
  • Orients all new patients and families to the clinic

Qualifications

Education

High School/GED required

 

Experience

Some experience in scheduling, registration and insurance verification required

Clinical experience with knowledge in medical procedures, terminology and documentation preferred

Microsoft Office experience preferred

Bilingual (Spanish/English) preferred
