Job Overview

Shriners Children's is the premier pediatric burn, orthopaedic, spinal cord injury, cleft lip and palate, and pediatric subspecialties medical center. We have an opportunity for a Department Assistant II, Check Out.

Responsibilities

Schedules all follow up appointments from orders at Check Out. Assists in scheduling at Check In (backup for new and established patients) as needed, and according to the established policies and procedures adopted by the Patient Access Department.

  • Ensures that patients are checked out timely and accurately.
  • Assists department in scheduling and rescheduling outpatient services.
  • Reschedule physician appointments as necessary and notify patients/families of change.
  • Assist in the answering of incoming telephone calls/retrieving voice-mails.

This is not an all-inclusive list of this job’s responsibilities. The incumbent may be required to perform other related duties and participate in special projects as assigned.

Qualifications

Required:

High School/GED required.

Six months’ computer applications knowledge.

 


Preferred:

Six months’ scheduling/registration in a healthcare setting.
