Job Overview

Schedule: Full-Time Day Shift- 1.0 FTE

Shift: 8:00am - 4:30pm- Mon-Fri 

 

Shriners Children's Chicago has an opportunity for an Administrative Assistant, Orthotics & ProstheticsJoin a team of professionals committed to improving children's lives.  Our top healthcare professionals excel in their practices and provide compassionate, family-centered care to children who need it most.

 

The pay range for this position is $21.24/hour - $26.56/hour. Compensation is determined based on years of experience and departmental equity. 

Responsibilities

  • Patient Access, Scheduling, Registration and patient discharge (including all required signatures and follow up).
  • Insurance verification and authorization approval for POPS services.
  • Entering data into OPIE, obtaining detailed written orders (including physician signature), audit of work in progress (WIP) through date of delivery.
  • Provides estimates of fees to families, including discussing their financial obligation (when appropriate) including financial counseling and means testing when indicated.
  • Audit of EMR prior to submission for billing.
  • Provides secretarial and clerical support for the department managers and staff to ensure the smooth and efficient flow of work within the department.
  • Performs various clerical support tasks on an ongoing basis.

Qualifications

Education

High School diploma required 

Skills and Experience

1 year administrative experience required, preferably in a health care setting. 

Orthotics and Prosthetics prior exposure very beneficial.

Skilled with computers and data entry i.e., Microsoft Office, Excel & Word.

Proficient in EMR systems.
