Job Overview

Shriners Children’s Philadelphia is where hope and healing meet. Our team of highly specialized physicians provides comprehensive care for children with fractures, sports injuries, orthopedic conditions, scoliosis, spinal cord conditions, and spine injuries. 

 

We have an opportunity for a full time, Director of Plant Facilities to join our team!

Responsibilities

The Director Plant Facilities plans, directs, coordinates and budgets for all building operations including the engineering and biomedical departments.

  • Oversees the regulatory compliance including The Joint Commission (TJC), Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS), Pennsylvania Department of Health (DOH), Fire and Life Safety Management.
  • Manages the mechanical and building functions of the department including engineering, plumbing, electrical, HVAC, carpentry, painting, locksmith and general mechanics.
  • Serves as a role model, mentor and coach to staff, motivating them to fulfill their potential as employees; Leads by example.
  • Seeks experience to expand and maintain skills and knowledge base and share that knowledge and skills with the respective departments.
  • Establishes financial and operational priorities and guidelines and ensures priorities and guidelines are met.
  • Acts as liaison between the engineering department and various hospital departments; Ensures responsible, timely and thorough responses to meet the needs of the Hospital.
  • Provides appropriate guidance and interventions.
  • Identifies problem areas and provides effective strategies for their resolution.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Education

  • Master's degree in related field preferred

 

Experience

  • 4 years related work experience 

 

Other

  • Certified Healthcare Facilities Manager, strongly preferred
  • Joint Commission survey experience, strongly preferred
