Job Overview

Shriners Children's Greenville has a great opportunity for a detailed and organized individual to join our team as a Department Assistant in our Care Management team.  This position provides administrative support to the Manager of the Department as well as to the RN Care Managers and Social Workers.  This position will play a vital role in supporting our patients and their families with excellent wrap around care as they receive healthcare services from our hospital facility.  Our Care Management team focuses on planning and coordinating care for our pediatric patients to help them meet their long term care needs and improve their quaility of life.  This team also works hand in hand with our patient families.  In this role, you will be supported by an amazing care management team, physicians, nurses and other team members in our hospital.  We invite you to consider joining our team.  We can't wait to work with you!

Responsibilities

Performs administrative support for the Care Management Department. Maintains departmental files and record keeping systems, ensuring retrieval of information. Performs a variety of general clerical support functions to ensure the smooth flow of work within the office.

 

Serves as point of contact for Care Coordination office, assessing the nature of communications and requests, and responding appropriately.

 

Compiles and maintains a variety of departmental records and reports to ensure retrievability and confidentiality. Coordinates special projects as assigned.

 

Demonstrates open, accurate, and timely communication with staff and interdisciplinary team members to ensure effective operation within the department

 

Qualifications

Education:

 

High School Diploma/GED Required

 

Experience:

 

Knowledge of: Basic record keeping and filing systems; Proper grammar, spelling and punctuation; Computerized databases and word processing systems to include Microsoft Word, Office and Excel; Proper office methods and procedures; Basic medical terminology. Ability to: Type and word process accurately and with speed; Communicate effectively and tactfully in both oral and written forms with persons from diverse cultural and professional backgrounds; Adapt to a variety of new and sensitive situations and responsibilities in an appropriate and positive manner; Function effectively in a multicultural patient / family / staff environment; Analyze data, problem solve, and select an appropriate course of action from a given set of alternatives required
