Job Overview

The Executive Director of Revenue Cycle is responsible for planning, directing and providing leadership and oversight for the programs, policies, procedures and operations of the revenue cycle functions at Shriners Children’s. This position has oversight of Patient Financial Services, Revenue Integrity, Physician billing and coding, Provider Enrollment and HIM. This position requires deep expertise in healthcare reimbursement, patient financial experience, revenue cycle operations and regulatory compliance. This position requires the ability to lead complex teams and drive organizational change in a dynamic healthcare environment

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for ensuring the areas of patient registration, billing, accounts receivable (AR), cash management requirements, managed care contractual terms and requirements, health insurance practices, industry regulatory requirements, business office operations, AR and financial reporting technology, and industry standards for healthcare revenue resolution management practices are working in an efficient and properly integrated manner.
  • Leads the development and implementation of revenue cycle strategies, processes and improvement initiatives to continuously improve revenue cycle processes to maximize billings and collections.
  • Responsible for analyzing and resolving problems that affect the claim submission process, regardless of whether the problem originates in an area under direct or indirect control. Ensure strong denial management processes, reviews and follow-ups are in place to optimize cash collections.
  • Responsible for financially analyzing data for operations , budgeting, auditing, forecasting; AR and reserve analysis, and market analysis and addressing issues and concerns that arise from those analyses.
  • Lead, coach and inspire a high-performing team, fostering a culture of accountability, transparency and excellence. Cultivate a cohesive leadership team that communicates openly, sets clear expectations and creates an environment where individuals feel valued and supported.
  • Responsible for ensuring all data required for regulated reporting and audits are available, accurate and properly maintained.

Qualifications

Required:

  • 10 years of accounting in hospital or not-for-profit setting
  • Bachelor's Degree in Finance or Accounting

Preferred:

  • 3 years of Epic EMR experience
  • Certified Public Accountant
