Job Overview

The Nurse Clinical Coordinator coordinates and supervises the care of pediatric patients and collaborates with other members of the health care team to plan, implement, and evaluate appropriate interventions.  Assists in planning, evaluating, organizing, supervising and implementing activities related to patient and operational processes in accordance to policies and procedures.  Assists with coordination, supervision, assessment and evaluation of staff performance, Joint Commission readiness and emergency preparedness.

Responsibilities

 

  • Provides leadership, direction and clinical support to nursing staff to promote quality patient care and a safe work environment. 
  • Monitors staff performance, attendance/tardiness, and professional work environment with a team approach. 
  • Responsible for supervising orientation of new staff, educating staff on policies and procedures and always look for performance improvement opportunities.
  • Coordinates and supervises the care of patients and collaborates with other members of the health care team to plan, implement, and evaluate appropriate interventions.
  • Develops, implements, and continually monitors the infection control policies and procedures for all departments.
  • Implements an on-going surveillance system for detecting and monitoring hospital-acquired and community infections; ensures compliance to regulatory requirements.

Qualifications

Required:

  • BSN degree or in process
  • RN License in state of practice
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
  • Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS)or Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification (within 12 months)
  • One year clinical nursing experience

Preferred:

  • Two year PICU experience
