Job Overview

Shriners Children's Greenville is looking for a dynamic individual to lead our Outpatient Department to a new level of operational excellence.  In this crucial role, you will be an integral player and contribute to our mission for providing stellar healthcare services for our pediatric orthopedic patients.  You will be supported by a simply amazing team of dedicated health professionals who come to work each day to do their best for our kids and their families. 

 

The Practice Manager is a proactive and hands-on leader who excels in fast-paced, multidisciplinary environments. This role is responsible for overseeing daily clinic operations, fostering collaboration across clinical and administrative teams, and driving continuous improvement. The ideal candidate brings strategic thinking, clear communication, and strong problem-solving skills to every facet of practice management. Accountable for performance across assigned services, the Practice Manager cultivates a high-performance culture focused on quality care, patient experience, regulatory compliance, safety, and financial stewardship in alignment with Shriners Children’s mission and values. This position reports jointly to the Site Administrator and the Medical Group.

Responsibilities

Some of the responsibilities of this role include:

 

Practice Oversight & Improvement

Leads and supports projects focused on efficiency, compliance, and patient experience
Ensures adherence to pediatric-specific health regulations
Stays current with HIPAA, OSHA, and CMS pediatric compliance standards
Monitors revenue cycle with attention to subspecialty billing opportunities
Identifies gaps in authorizations, referrals, and documentation
Analyzes EMR data for performance dashboards, recall systems, and care gap closures

 

Patient Experience & Family Engagement

Fosters a child-friendly and family-centered environment
Designs and implements strategies to improve patient/family satisfaction
Handles escalated patient/family concerns with sensitivity and professionalism

 

Problem Solving & Critical Thinking
Uses data and root cause analysis to identify and solve workflow inefficiencies
Identifies and implements operational improvements
Maintains a log of issues, actions taken, and outcomes to drive practice optimization
Presents operational decisions with rationale and alternatives to site and system leadership

 

Communication
Acts as liaison across care teams, leadership, and external partners
Ensures transparency and strategic alignment through ongoing communication
Provides operational updates on performance, patient satisfaction, and quality measures

 

Team Development & Retention
Recruits and retains staff experienced in pediatric care
Facilitates ongoing pediatric-specific training and credentialing
Creates a culture of continuous feedback and psychological safety

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Qualifications

Education and Credentials

Bachelor's Degree in any program of study required

Master's Degree in Healthcare Administraton (MHA) or Business Administration (MBA) preferred

 

Certificate or Licensure

Membership in American College of Heathcare (ACHE) or Medical Group Management Association (MGMA) preferred

Lean Six Sigma Green Certification preferred

 

Experience

3-5 years of progressive experience in clinic or healthcare operations required

2+ years of experience in Pediatric or Specialty Care settings preferred
