Job Overview

We have an opportunity for a Part Time (.5 FTE) Department Assistant II in our POPS Department. This position is responsible for all clerical and reception functions in the department.  This includes typing, filing, correspondence, assisting with special projects, reports, budgets, travel, department relation and inter-departmental communications.  Develops and maintains cordial relations with patients, parents, and hospital staff by insuring friendly, efficient services. The hours for this position are Wednesday 1PM - 430PM and Thursdays and Fridays 8AM - 430PM.

Responsibilities

  • Patient/parents reception includes greeting patients in a friendly manner, obtaining insurance information and directing to fitting/cast room as requested by practitioner.
  • Provides telephone answering assistance and support by ansering the phone coureously and returning calls are returned in a timely manner.
  • Maintains casting/fitting rooms and waiting area.
  • Provides clericial assistance to the director and staff of the prosthetics/orthotics department.
  • Schedule patients with practitioners as needed for new admissions, patient fitting or adjustment/repair.
  • This is not an all-inclusive list of this job's responsibilities.  The incumbent may be required to perform other related duties and participate in special projects as assigned.

Qualifications

Required:

High School Diploma/GED 

Proficient in use of Microsft Office Applications

 

Preferred:

1 year scheduling, registration and insurance verification in a healthcare environment

1 year working in an Orthotics/Prosthetics department
