Job Overview

The PACU Registered Nurse provides nursing care to our pediatric patients within the recovery room, performs assessments and interventions designed to keep the patients safe after surgery.  The RN provides leadership through activities such as preceptor role and quality improvement efforts.  The RN supports professional nursing practice across practice settings and across the continuum of care to meet the needs of the patient and family. 

 

The pay range for this position is $49.47 - $74.21 per hour, commensurate on years of experience. 

Responsibilities

  • Involves patient, family, and health care team members in formulating an appropriate individualized plan of care and identifies expected outcomes based on nursing assessment and diagnosis.
  • Implements the plan of care in partnership with the patient, family, and health care team members.
  • Ensures all components of the plan of care are documented in the patient health record.
  • Evaluates the patient/family's understanding of and response to the plan of care.
  • Utilizes teaching strategies appropriate to the individual patient's condition and learning needs.

Qualifications

Education

BSN preferred

Experience

Experience in the pediatric specialty of the hospital which may include: Maternal/Child, Orthopaedic, Burn Rehabilitation - Preferred 

Certification/Licensure

RN in state of practice - required

Basic Life Support (BLS) - required

Skills

Strong customer service philosophy. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills. Proven proactive leadership ability. Works well under pressure. Knowledgeable of regulatory agency requirements (i.e. The Joint Commission, State, and Federal agencies). Member of a professional organization is strongly recommended.
