Job Overview

Shriners Children’s Philadelphia is where hope and healing meet. Our team of highly specialized physicians provides comprehensive care for children with fractures, sports injuries, orthopedic conditions, scoliosis, spinal cord conditions, and spine injuries. 

 

We are seeking a full time Nursing Director, Inpatient Services to join our team!  

 

This position will plan, organize, develop and direct the daily operation of the Inpatient, PICU, and Respiratory departments, as well as the  Clinical Dietitian, and House supervisors taking into consideration all patient-age groups served by SHC. Assumes fiscal as well as clinical responsibility for these areas.

Responsibilities

This position will:

  • Determine staff qualifications and competence
  • Maintain a sufficient number of qualified and competent persons to provide care/services
  • Ensure orientation and continuing education of all staff in the department
  • Oversee departmental budget
  • Assure all areas of responsibility demonstrate evidence of cost containment efforts
  • Manage allocation of resources
  • Demonstrate knowledge of hospital and Departmental Infection Control policies and procedures and monitor staff compliance
  • Act as a clinical resource by disseminating current information regarding trends, skills, resources, policies and procedures and act as a clinical resource in various committees
  • Establish both unit based and personal goals on an annual basis
  • Other duties as assigned

 

Qualifications

Education

BSN required

MSN or Masters in Healthcare preferred

 

Experience

5 years experience in management/supervisory preferred

2 years experience in inpatient/acute care nursing required

1 years experience pediatric experience preferred

 

Certifications/Licensure

RN in state of practice required

CPR required
