Job Overview

The Interface Analyst I assists in the analysis, design, development, support and maintenance of clinical and operational system interfaces across a hybrid healthcare environment. This includes supporting platforms such as Cerner Open Engine, Epic Bridges, Infor Cloverleaf, and other integration tools to ensure seamless data exchange, system reliability, and high availability. The role serves as a bridge between technical teams, application owners, and vendors, ensuring that integration solutions meet organizational goals and healthcare interoperability standards.

 

The position requires ability to work off-hours and participate in on-call rotation.

Responsibilities

Integration Planning & Development
•  Collaborate with stakeholders to define integration requirements and document workflows.
•  Conduct detailed analysis of integration needs and build technical specifications.
•  Design, build, and deploy high-quality interfaces using Cerner Open Engine, Epic Bridges, Infor Cloverleaf, and other platforms.
•  Create and maintain build guides, test plans, and deployment documentation.
•  Troubleshoot and address integration issues during development and testing.
•  Ensure seamless integration with existing systems and workflows.
•  Assist with data mapping and conversions.
•  Facilitate change management processes related to integration deployments.
•  Actively contribute to project teams and ensure timely completion of deliverables.

 

Interface Operations & Support
•  Monitor and support production interfaces to ensure high system availability and performance.
•  Perform routine maintenance, troubleshoot issues, and optimize existing integrations.
•  Manage incidents, defects, and enhancement requests via ServiceNow and Sherlock.
•  Ensure timely resolution of tickets within SLA targets and maintain high-quality documentation.
•  Manage end-user access to integration applications in accordance with vendor best practices, the principle of least privilege, and Shriners Children’s security standards.
•  Support geographically diverse environments and locations.
•  Regularly review and optimize existing interfaces to enhance stability.
•  Escalate unresolved issues appropriately and follow up to ensure resolution.

 

Collaboration & Knowledge Sharing
•  Serve as a liaison between application teams, technical teams, and vendors.
•  Foster positive working relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
•  Provide mentorship and support to colleagues on integration best practices.
•  Share knowledge through documentation, training, and process improvements.
•  Participate in professional development activities and maintain current certifications.

 

Interface Operations & Maintenance
•  Follow established change control processes for all updates and deployments.
•  Ensure all interface changes are thoroughly documented, reviewed, and approved prior to implementation.
•  Participate in audits and ensure ongoing compliance with organizational and regulatory standards.
•  Maintain accurate records of interface configurations and changes.
•  Ensure integration solutions align with healthcare interoperability standards and organizational policies

Qualifications

Required:

  • 1 - 5 years of experience with interface engines or EHR integration platforms
  • Basic SQL, scripting (e.g., Python, Tcl) and familiarity with API's
  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, IT, Health Informatics

 

Preferred:

  • 1-2 years of experience in a healthcare setting (clinical systems, EHR's, HL7, HIPAA)
  • 1-2 years of experience in technical support, help desk, or application support roles
  • Bachelor's Degree in Healthcare I, Information Systems or related field
  • Preferred certifications:
    •  Healthcare IT: HL7 Certification, CAHIMS, CPHIMS
    •  Platform-Specific: Epic Bridges, Cloverleaf Level 1, Cerner ULearn
    •  Security & Compliance: HCISPP
    •  Technical: AWS Certified DevOps Engineer, Microsoft Azure Integration
