Job Overview

The MAC Engineer reports directly to the System MAC (SMAC) engineer.  Provides technical services to support the MAC Physical Therapist in the provision of motion analysis center services.  The MAC Engineer works with local medical staff and the multidisciplinary team to assist in the design and implementation of individualized evaluations to meet the need of the pediatric patients and their family.  The MAC Engineer provides mentoring, and education to students and other professionals, supports the ongoing development of the department through participation in facility committees, and research and quality improvement.  The MAC Engineer is responsible for professional growth and development through ongoing education and research in alignment with each facility's direction.  In cooperation with the SMAC engineer, the MAC engineer works with local leaders, offering exceptional care following the Shriners Children's FOCUSED Program.  Salt Lake City Shriners is looking for a full time MAC Engineer to join the team!

 

 Schedule:  Full time 1.0 FTE (on site)

 Compensation is determined based on experience and equity. 

 

 

Responsibilities

  • Under the direction of the SMAC engineer, the Mac engineer obtains and maintains CMLA accreditation.
  • Performs data collection for research projects and clinical care at the local facility.
  • Assist with department scheduling as needed.
  • Assist SMAC Engineer and Development Specialist with the development and integration of new clinical programs.
  • Manages local data collection, storage and retrieval for clinical care and research
  • Provides orientation and training to new therapists, technicians, students and volunteers to ensure proper use of equipment, accurate data collection and processing with output consistent with lab protocol.
  • Seeks opportunities to participate in training/education to expand knowledge base for the advancement of skills.
  • Participates in departmental educational opportunities such as in services, journal clubs, and annual mandatory competencies.
  • Facilitates positive effective relationships with other employees and serves as a resource for other health-care team members.

Qualifications

Required

  • Bachelor's in Engineering or Kinesiology

Preferred

  • Master's Degree
  • 2 years experience in Motion analysis lab
