Job Overview

The Staffing Coordinator perform centralized scheduling and staffing requirements for inpatient hospital nursing units and house supervisors, and tracks/maintains various staff records and logs.

 

This position is per diem, non-exempt and benefits eligibleThe pay range for this position is $29.96 - $42.30 per hour.  Compensation is determined based on relevant experience and department equity. 



Responsibilities

 

  • Oversees and coordinates master schedules and staffing needs for the inpatient nursing units and House Supervisors.
  • Communicates with administration, unit managers, house supervisors, and charge nurses regarding census and acuity based staffing needs.
  • Contacts in-house staff and nursing registries to fill open shift requests.
  • Provides for family stay needs related to admissions during after-hours when a nurse manager or house supervisor is not available.
  • Triages house supervisor calls and refers to appropriate source in absence of a nurse manager or house supervisor.
  • Complies with Title XXII/OSHA/Joint Commission and SHCNC policies and procedures.
  • Demonstrates responsibility for ongoing personal development and growth.
  • Uses principles of time management and priority setting in the activity of unit staff.
  • Demonstrates the ability to professionally interact and communicate appropriately with staff, patients, families, and visitors.

Qualifications

Education:

Highschool/GED - Required

 

Experience:

1 year administrative/clerical experience - Required

1 year administrative/clerical experience in a hospital setting - Preferred
