Job Overview

Reporting to the Director of Research Grants & Sponsored Programs the Sponsored Programs Research Administrator plays a vital role in the pre- and non-financial post-award lifecycle of sponsored research. Serving as a key liaison between investigators, sponsors, and internal stakeholders, this position is responsible for managing proposal submissions, ensuring regulatory compliance, facilitating sponsor communication, and maintaining operational systems that support the research enterprise. This position supports both externally funded and intramural awards across Shriners Children’s, working closely with finance, compliance, and institutional leadership. The role is ideal for a resourceful, detail-oriented professional who thrives in a fast-paced, mission-driven research environment.

Responsibilities

  • Proposal Development and Submission
  • Coordinate the end-to-end process of preparing and submitting grant proposals in accordance with sponsor and institutional guidelines. Support principal investigators (PIs) in drafting, assembling, and routing proposals; ensure all materials meet sponsor formatting and content requirements. Oversee final submission through sponsor portals such as Grants.gov, ASSIST, and Proposal Central.

Qualifications

Minimum:

  • Bachelors Degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration
  • 3+ years of experience in research administration, proposal development, or grants management (heathcare/academic environment preferred)

 

Preferred:

  • Masters Degree
  • Certified Research Administrator (CRA)
