Job Overview

The Rehab Aide as directed and supervised by the staff physical and / or occupational therapist, assists with restoration of patient functioning to prevent disability following injury, disease or physical disability.  They are responsible for provision and administration of specific physical and occupational therapy treatments only under the direct supervision of the staff therapist.  Assists patients to reach their maximum performance and level of functioning while learning to live within the limits of their capabilities.  The Rehab Aide participates in operational aspects of the department, maintains performance improvement activities within the department and participates in CQI activities.  Performs department inventory and coordinates loaner equipment.  Participates in all infection control, departmental equipment training, and organizational safety and fire safety programs.  Provides care for infant, toddler, preschool, school age and your adult (up to 21) patients.  Shriners Spokane is looking for a full time Rehab Aide to join our team!

 

Schedule: Full time, 1.0 FTE

 

*The pay range for this position is $18.91-$28.37/hourly. Compensation is determined based on years of experience and departmental equity.*

Responsibilities

  • Assists with patient setup, including mat preparation of braces
  • Manages departmental treatment supplies via assisting Rehab staff with monthly audit and replenishing stock in advance.  Orders supplies as needed/requested for entire department.  Works with Rehab Manager to ensure fiscal responsibility and budgetary constraints
  • Videotapes/photographs treatment as instructed by therapist.  Functions as Rehab CAMM system staff responsible for patient photo downloads into EMR
  • Complies with SC safety and infection control policies in maintaining clean and functional work areas, including cleaning and disinfecting equipment after use and identifying equipment in need of repair and notifies maintenance or kinetics within twenty-four hours
  • Cleans OT/PT splint pan monthly; paraffin bath level check bi-weekly and cleaned monthly; Hot/Cold Packs machine cleaned monthly at a minimum.  Refills/replenishes cleaning supplies (spray/rags).  Monitors contents of the refrigerator per Food Storage policy on daily and weekly time frames.  Maintains a temperature log for: Refrigerator, hydrocollator, splint pans, cold pack machine and paraffin wax
  • Assists with volunteer training and supervision
  • Maintains yearly CPR certification

Qualifications

Required

  • 1 year Healthcare Setting and Pediatric/Orthopaedics
  • Basic Life Support (BLS)

Preferred

  • High School Diploma/GED
