Job Overview

Shriners Children’s Southern California is seeking an Occupational Therapist to join the multidisciplinary team in our Pediatric outpatient team.

 

This position is part time, non-exempt and benefits eligible. The pay range for this position is $43.67 - $65.61/hour. Compensation is determined based on years of experience and departmental equity. 

 

Schedule is 2:30P - 6:30P Monday - Friday.

Responsibilities

The Occupational Therapist position provides evaluation and therapy services, including direct patient care, patient/family education and transition of care, in an efficient, age-appropriate, and culturally sensitive manner upon licensed independent practitioner referral.

  • Provides comprehensive compliant and safe clinical care demonstrating the philosophy of family centered care, a commitment to the achievement of optimal patient outcomes in alignment with the standards of practice of their professional organization.
  • Works with medical staff and the multidisciplinary team to design and implement individualized plans of care to meet the needs of the pediatric patients and their family.
  • Functions as a team member and develops leadership skills through activities such as: mentoring, and providing education to students and other professionals.
  • Supports the ongoing development and improvement of the department through participation in special projects, performance improvement and facility committees.
  • Responsible for professional growth and development through ongoing education and research in alignment with hospital’s patient care and strategic direction.
  • Responsible for maintaining current knowledge in changes related to scope of practice, coding/billing practices, compliant documentation and any other knowledge related to the compliant practice in a revenue cycle environment.
  • In cooperation with other local leaders, offers exceptional care following the Shriners Hospitals for Children® FOCUSED©™ Program, a system-wide model for professional practice that stresses and emphasizes patient-centered care, or always putting the needs of the patients (and their families first).

Qualifications

1 year Occupational Therapy experience required

 

Hand Therapy experience required

 

Must be board certified in Advanced Practice of Hand Therapy or in the process of achieving the education, training, and competency requirements established by the board for providing hand therapy.

 

Must have completed within the past 4 years or be in the process of completing 45 Contact Hours of Hand Therapy Education.

 

Must have completed or be in the process of completing 480 Supervised Clinical Hours

 

1 year of pediatric experience preferred

 

Must have basic computer literacy for documenting in an electronic medical record. Strong interpersonal skills and a collaborative mindset are desired traits.

 

Must possess current licensure by the California Board of Occupational Therapy and CPR certification.
