Job Overview

 

Shriners Children’s Twin Cities is seeking an experienced Practice Administrator to join our dedicated, mission-driven team. This role offers the opportunity to contribute to a dynamic clinical environment that supports surgical and outpatient pediatric orthopedic care for children and adolescents.

 

Accountable to the Board of Governors and Market Administrator, the Practice Administrator provides values-based leadership by providing direction, advice and oversight in the areas of operations, clinical care and regulatory compliance, with all clinical and support functions/services. Accountable for all aspects of the assigned services' performance including development and maintenance of high performance culture and positive work environment required to drive quality care and optimal patient outcomes, patient experience, regulatory compliance, safety, and financial stewardship (to patient and Shriners Children's). Responsible for planning, evaluating, and organizing all staff and activities related to the clinic, including oversight of identified process improvement opportunities. Identify, implement, and monitor improvement opportunities to create operational efficiencies, care enhancements, growth opportunity and strategic alignment, including resource optimization and advancements in patient care. Effectively engages others in change management and organizational transformation, developing a collaborative relationship within facility, market and system (as applicable). Participates and/or leads facility leadership activities/committees, general/strategic planning, and other projects as assigned, in conjunction with the Board of Governors, Regional Administrator and corporate leaders. The ideal candidate brings strategic thinking, clear communication, and strong problem-solving skills to every facet of practice management.

 

 

This is a salaried, exempt, full-benefits eligible position. The pay range for this role is $101,649.60 to $174,241.40, with compensation determined by years of relevant clinical experience and departmental equity.

Responsibilities

  • In a complex ambulatory setting, oversees the daily business operations of the provider practice at the facility.
    • Interacts with providers and clinical staff regarding patient care issues
      Solicits input from the medical staff, patients, families, peers, and executives for coordinating effective patient care
    • Adjust physician and APP templates based on operational needs
  • Possesses a clear understanding of the financial, operational, administrative and regulatory aspects of the facility.
    • Monitors revenue cycle with attention to sub-speciality billing opportunities.
  • Responsible for patient access to services, charge entry, clinical support management, quality improvement, referral relations, patient satisfaction, and all other ancillary services and functions along with personnel management and problem solving.
  • Analyzes EMR data for performance dashboards, recalls systems, and care gap closures. Identifies gaps in authorizations, referrals, and documentation.
  • Strategic Planning:
    • Demonstrates a long-term view of where the clinic is going and integrates this view with Shriners Hospital for Children’s (SHC) vision creativity and innovation in developing strategic directions in conjunction with the Board of Governors, Market Administrator and corporate leaders.
    • Translates vision into strategies with clear objectives and practical action plans providing clear guidelines for meeting goals
    • Comes to a decision in a timely manner.
    • Orchestrates the pace and process of change to maintain operating effectiveness.
  • Manages personal growth and development through educational advancement, continuing education, professional
    association membership and involvement, career planning and annual self-assessment and action plans.
  • Directs continuous improvement in organizational processes and services, using quality improvement processes and assessment tools to better identify and serve customer needs
  • Financial:
    • Responsible for operating and capital budget requests considering (SHC) organizational strategic plan, as well as annual goals and objectives.
    • Demonstrates mastery of unit/department-based budgeting, review and analysis of budget variances to ensure effective cost management.
    • Understands the health insurance environment and leads team to capitalize on opportunities for good stewardship in managing fiscal resources
    • Oversees overall clinic to meet facility and SHC targets, guidelines and goals.

Qualifications

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in health care administration or health or related field (required) and
  • Master’s degree in health care administration or health or related field required
  • Seven (7) years Management experience in a healthcare practice, ambulatory clinic setting or closely related healthcare setting (required)
  • Certification as CMPE (MGMA), ACHE or CPPM (AAPC) recommended
