Job Overview

The LPN is accountable for providing care for pediatric patients. Works as an advocate for patient and families in a collaborative effort with the multidisciplinary team. Works to achieve quality outcomes using a family centered care philosophy. Performs professional nursing service for patients under the supervision of a Registered Nurse and within the scope, ethics, and standards of practice.  Shriners Portland is looking for a full time LPN to join our team!

Schedule:  Full time 0.9 FTE

Responsibilities

  •  Provides patient care in accordance with established outpatient guidelines
  •  Reviews, contributes to, development, revision of patient plan of care
  •  Provides and documents patient/family teaching in accordance with the plan of care
  •  Reviews charts to ensure all required test results are available
  •  Communicates with the multidisciplinary team to ensure integration of services and continuity of patient care; attends team and family conferences when possible
  •  Reports unresolved patient and unit related problems to Nurse Manager or Case Manager
  •  Ensures accurate and timely documentation in SHCIS

Qualifications

Required

  • Certificate in Nursing
  • LPN License in state of practice
  • Basic Life Support (BLS)

Preferred

  • 1 year Pediatric Orthopedics
  • Pediatric Advanced Life Suppost (PALS)
