Job Overview

Shriners Children's has an opportunity for an experienced Maintenance Supervisor to join our team.   

 

This position is responsible for overseeing the maintenance operations within the healthcare facility, ensuring that all equipment, systems, and physical infrastructure are safe, functional, and compliant with healthcare regulations. This role includes supervising maintenance staff, coordinating preventive and corrective maintenance, and ensuring that the facility meets all regulatory and safety standards. May require occasional evening, weekend, or on-call work for emergencies.

 

The pay range for this position is $32.78 hourly to $49.18 hourly. Compensation is determined based on years of experience and department equity.

Responsibilities

Lead, train, and manage maintenance staff, including assigning tasks and monitoring performance.

· Ensure staff adherence to facility policies, safety protocols, and standard operating procedures.

· Develop and oversee preventive maintenance schedules for medical and non-medical equipment, HVAC systems, plumbing, electrical systems, and building infrastructure.

·  Respond promptly to maintenance requests and emergencies, minimizing downtime.

· Ensure all maintenance activities comply with OSHA, NFPA, Joint Commission, and other healthcare regulatory standards.

· Conduct routine inspections and risk assessments to identify potential hazards and implement corrective measures.

· Monitor building systems, utilities, and equipment performance to ensure efficiency and reliability.

· Coordinate repairs, renovations, and upgrades with contractors and vendors.

· Maintain accurate maintenance logs, work orders, and equipment records.

· Prepare reports on maintenance activities, equipment status, and compliance audits for management review.

· Assist in planning and managing the maintenance budget, including procurement of materials, tools, and equipment.

· Optimize the use of resources and ensure cost-effective maintenance operations

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent required; technical certification or associate degree in facilities management, engineering, or a related field preferred.
  • Minimum of 3–5 years of experience in facility maintenance required, preferably in a healthcare setting.
  • Strong knowledge of building systems (HVAC, electrical, plumbing, life safety systems).
  • Leadership and team management skills.
  • Familiarity with healthcare regulations and safety standards.
  • Excellent problem-solving and communication skills.

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to lift, carry, and move maintenance equipment.
  • Ability to access confined spaces, climb ladders, and work at heights as needed.

Work Environment:

  • Healthcare facility environment, including patient care areas.
  • May require occasional evening, weekend, or on-call work for emergencies.
