Shriners Children’s Chicago offers specialized care for a wide range of pediatric orthopedic, bone and joint conditions, including rare diseases and syndromes. Other specialties include spine and scoliosis care, plastic surgery, cleft lip and palate care, comprehensive rehabilitation and spinal cord injuries.
Shriners Children's Chicago has a full time Department Assistant available with the POPS (Pediatric Orthotic and Prosthetics Services) group.
The pay range for this position is $21.24 hourly to $31.88 hourly. Compensation is determined based on years of experience and department equity.
The Department Assistant is responsible for patient access, scheduling, registration, and patient discharge (including all require signatures and follow up).
Entering data into OPIE (business management program), obtaining detailed written orders (including physician signature), and audit of Work In Progress (WIP) up and through date of delivery.
Audit of EMR prior to submission to the corporate office for billing.
HS Diploma/GED is required
One-Two years of experience working in a hospital or medical office preferred
Patient registration, scheduling, and related office experience preferred
Durable Medical Equipment (Orthotics & Prosthetics) related experience (strongly preferred)
