Job Overview

We currently have an opening for a full time Sr. Food Server to join our Portland, OR team.  The Sr. Food Server assists in the preparation of the patients' meals and nourishments; serves cafeteria customers, operates the cash register and performs daily after-meal cleanup.

 

Schedule: Full-time (in-person)

Holidays: 9 observed holidays per year

Compensation range: The hired applicant's placement within the range is based on qualifications and professional experience.

Responsibilities

  • Demonstrates skills and abilities to perform food preparation (including maintaining food temperatures), set-up, and service or patients (including special diets) and cafeteria customers
  • Performs clean-up of patient trays and cafeteria dishes and dining room according to department procedure.  Demonstrate knowledge and skills to operate Hobart Dishwasher according to departmental procedure and manufacturer's instructions on file
  • Demonstrates knowledge and skills to operate cash register according to manufacturer's instructions.  Competently rings up cafeteria sales, makes correct change, and is able to reconcile cash drawer at the end of the shift
  • Demonstrates knowledge and ability to perform safe storage of food items to avoid waste and spoilage, according to department procedure
  • Demonstrates ability to handle food items according to Health Department temperature standards.  Uses techniques which prevent cross-contamination of potentially hazardous foods
  • Maintains food preparation techniques and cleaning/use of utensils and work area according to Department of Health regulations and departmental procedure
  • Demonstrates knowledge and ability to safely perform the Heimlich Maneuver

  • ServSafe Food Safety Certificate/Food Handlers Card
  • 1 year Food preparation or distribution
