Job Overview

Seeking a full time Orthotics and Prosthetics Assistant for our location in Woodbury Minnesota.

 

Shriners Children's is the premier pediatric orthopaedic, spinal cord injury, cleft lip and palate, and pediatric subspecialties clinic. 

Responsibilities

The Department Assistant is responsible for the measurement, casting, modification, fabrication and fitting of prosthetic and orthotic devices under the direct supervision of an ABC Certified Practitioner. 

 

Additionally, they are responsible for the timely and compliant patient documentation utilizing OPIE EMR system and supporting front office staff.

 

The Prosthetic/Orthotic Assistant is responsible to monitor their WIP and direct the technical staff in fabrication of specific orthotic and prosthetic devices following an organized and orderly work flow with reasonable delivery dates of the orthosis/prosthesis to patients.

 

Qualifications

Requirements

  • HS Diploma/GED
  • Successful completion of Assistant Certification Eligibility Requirement Pathway 1 or Pathway 2 as required by American Board for Certification Assistant Candidate Guide
  • Two years of orthotics experience
  • Two years of prosthetics experience
  • ABC Registered Assistant and must hold or be eligible for MN licensure
