Job Overview

Shriners Children’s Northern California is seeking an Occupational Therapist to join the multidisciplinary team in our Pediatric Inpatient Rehabilitation program.

 

This position is per diem, non-exempt and benefits eligible. The pay range for this position is $57.88/hour - $81.01/hour. Compensation is determined based on years of experience and departmental equity. 

Responsibilities

  • Provides direct patient care; evaluates and treats all patients with appropriate interventions based on each patient's needs and medical conditions
  • Recognizes limits in clinical judgment and seeks peer or multi-disciplinary collaboration
  • Effectively communicates patient care needs with medical, nursing and ancillary staff
  • Collaborates with patients, families and professional to attain the desired outcomes
  • Provides thorough, accurate, inpatient and outpatient documentation, in compliance with department, hospital and Joint Commission policies
  • Actively participates in required staff meetings and continuing education program
  •  Documents the patient's responses in the medical record
  • Provides appropriate discharge plans and patient/parent teaching by written or demonstrated methods for exercises, splints, and equipment use
  • Communicates with supervisor, medical staff and appropriate personnel as needed to problem solving of clinical, departmental and hospital issues

Qualifications

Requires previous experience in Occupational Therapy. Must have basic computer literacy for documenting in an electronic medical record. Strong interpersonal skills and a collaborative mindset are desired traits.

Must possess current licensure or eligible for licensure by the California Board of Occupational Therapy and CPR certification.  2-3 years of pediatric healthcare or hospital experience preferred.
