Job Overview

The Human Resources Assistant performs all HR clerical functions and supports the daily operations of the Human Resources department by supporting staff through  processing staffing changes, new hires and terminations; assisting with benefit enrollments and recruitment. This position also provides reporting support, as well as Joint Commission readiness for HR Standards.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinates new employee orientation.  Ensures all paperwork is complete to clear new employees to start.  Maintains and distributes orientation packets and new employee file.  Schedules and documents attendance for all new employees.
  • Serves as a resource on employee benefits and retirement plans.  Coordinates employee changes to benefits.
  • Coordinates and tracks progress of new employee evaluation process.
  • Completes employee status change paperwork and computer data entry.
  • Completes employee exit paperwork.
  • Supports the employee recognition program. 
  • Maintains all employee files.
  • Provides administrative assistance to HR team.

Qualifications

Required:

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office 
  • Bilingual English/Spanish
  • High School diploma or GED 

Preferred:

  • At least 1 year of Human Resources experience, preferably in healthcare environment 
  • Experience using HRIS systems 
  • Associate's degree in related field

  • Good time management and organizational skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to deal with confidential information
  • Ability to communicate and interact with all members of the Shriners team in a professional and courteous manner
  • Innovative, self-motivated, and detail oriented
