We have an opportunity for a Director of Plant Facilities. The Director of Plant Facilities directs and has knowledge of work relating to maintenance and construction of the facility to include HVAC, plumbing, carpentry, painting, mechanical, electrical, vehicles, clinical equipment, utilities, and grounds.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinates and budgets for all building operations including the engineering and biomedical departments.
  • Management and supervision of the hospital maintenance services including maintenance of all buildings, structures, grounds, supporting equipment, and employees.
  • Oversees the regulatory compliance of life safety code and other standards of  The Joint Commission (TJC), OSHA, and DHEC.
  • Manages the mechanical and building functions of the department including engineering, plumbing, electrical, HVAC, carpentry, painting, locksmith and general mechanics.
  • Serves as a role model, mentor and coach to staff, motivating them to fulfill their potential as employees; Leads by example.
  • Writes and reviews department policies.
  • Studies and implements all codes to ensure hospital compliance with local, state and federal regulations and licensing.
  • Ensures responsible, timely and thorough responses to meet the needs of the Hospital.
  • Ensures and directs the repair of Bio-Med equipment.
  • Identifies problem areas and provides effective strategies for their resolution.

Qualifications

Required

HS Diploma/GED

4 years experience in Maintenance/Engineering in a hospital setting.

Understanding and knowledge of electrical, pneumatics, plumbing, steam, refrigeration, H.V.A.C., Medical Gas systems, emergency generator and related equipment or equivalent combination of education and experience. 

4 years Management/Supervisory experience

4 years Facility Management experience

 

Preferred

Bachelors Degree in Engineering/related field

Experience with environmental services preferred.
