Job Overview

 The Certified Prosthetist and Orthotist(ABC) produces quality prosthetic and orthotic devices in accordance with physician's prescription for infant, toddler, preschool, school age, adolescent, young adult (up to age 21) patients according to guidelines of all regulatory agencies, including Joint Commission.  Assists in managing all aspects of the department.  Provides assistance and guidance for subordinates where prosthetic and orthotic design, fabrication, modification and repairs are concerned.  The Certified Prosthetist and Orthotist is available for prosthetic and orthotic consultation with physicians, nurses, therapists and other ancillary personnel.   We have an opportunity for a full-time  Prosthetist and Orthotist (ABC) to join our Honolulu team!

 

Schedule:  Full time, 1.0 FTE

 

 

 The pay range for this position is $42.56/hour - $63.85/hour. Compensation is determined based on years of experience and departmental equity.

Responsibilities

  • Provides Prosthetic and Orthotic Consultation to Physician and assist in evaluating the patient for the appropriate device
  • Demonstrating the ability to design, fabricate, modify and repair all varieties of Prostheses and Orthoses ensuring optimal function, fit and comfort
  • Controls the flow and quality of Prosthetic and Orthotic fabrication and ensuring that work is completed in a timely manner
  • Assessing, entering and retrieving data, using system applications to register, schedule, plan and document patient care, including patient education, at all times. Accessing SHCIS (read only) as necessary
  • Demonstrating knowledge and skills necessary to provide population specific care, which include age (infant, toddler, preschool, school-age, adolescent, and young adult patients) and culture, providing proper intervention in accordance with department guidelines

Qualifications

Required

  • High School Diploma/GED
  • Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Orthotics and Prosthetics
  • ABC Certification in Orthotics and Prosthetics
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification recognized by the American Heart Association (AHA)


Preferred

  • Experience with Computer Aided Design (CAD) and Central Fabrication model
  • 3+ years of clinical and technical expertise in Orthotics/Prosthetics
